Craps, which started out in life called ‘crabs’, is a casino gambling game played with a pair of dice. Players bet money against the casino on the result of one or a series of rolls of the dice.
Because of its mobility and paucity of equipment, Craps can be played in less formal settings than casinos and is reputedly popular among soldiers. Side bets are less frequent in such situations with the players covering or ‘fading’ bets against the dice.
